영포자 직장인의 오픽 IM1 도전기_첫 번째 콤보 마스터하기

"영어가 세상에서 제일 싫어요"

그랬던 내가 오픽 IM1을 땄다고?

나는 어릴 적부터 영어만 보면 식은땀이 줄줄 흐르던, 전형적인 영포자였다.
대학교 4학년 때 토익 점수는 500점 초반. 회사 다니면서도 영어는 늘 "나중에 해야지" 리스트에 올라만 있었다.

초반에 반드시 마스터해야 하는 4대 스킬이 있다.

이 4가지는 마치 "합격 열쇠" 같은 것.
이걸 기계적으로라도 암기→연습→적용하면, IM1은 정말 손에 잡힌다.

이제 각 항목별로 어떻게 답변해야 하는지, 예시와 함께 정리해 보자!

1. 묘사 (Description)

묘사는 '그림 설명하듯' 풍부하게 말하는 것이다.
핵심은 "5W1H" — 누가, 언제, 어디서, 무엇을, 왜, 어떻게.

예시 문장

"There is a park near my house. It has a big fountain and many beautiful flowers. I usually go there on weekends to relax."

Tip: 보이는 것, 생각나는 것 다 말하자. (조리 없어도 OK!)

2. 루틴 (Routine)

루틴은 "내 일상"을 이야기하는 것.
패턴만 잘 외우면 어떤 문제든 돌려막기 가능!

Tip: 시간 순서로 이야기하면 자연스럽다!

Tip: "used to" + "these days" 콤보는 필수다!

과거에 있었던 특별한 사건을 구체적으로 이야기하는 것이다.
재밌거나 인상 깊은 이야기를 꺼내면 Good!
