오픽 두 번째 콤보란?

두 번째 콤보는 문제를 '응용해서' 말할 수 있는 능력을 평가한다.
즉, '상황 대처 능력', '가정(If) 상황', '전화/대화 롤플레이', '돌발 질문' 같은 것이 여기에 포함된다.

초반에 말 잘하다가 이 두 번째 콤보에서 버벅이면...
IM1 문턱에서 좌절할 수도 있다.

그래서 오늘은 두 번째 콤보의 핵심 영역 4가지를 뽑아서,

첫 번째 콤보에서 말만 하다 끝났다면,
두 번째 콤보는 '진짜 대화'를 하는 구간이다.
내가 오픽에서 IM1을 받을 수 있었던 건
바로 이 두 번째 콤보에 시간을 투자했기 때문이다.

하루에 3문제씩, 롤플레이 녹음하면서 회사 출퇴근 시간을 영어로 채웠다.
아침엔 스마트폰에 대고 "I'd like to make a reservation..."
밤엔 자기 전에 "If I lost my phone, I would…"

이런 연습이 쌓이니, 시험장에서 버벅대던 영어가
어느새 자연스럽게 내 입에서 흘러나왔다.
